Just when you think you know what’s what, someone comes along and throws a curve-ball at you.
Politics Vermont is reporting that Jumpin’ Jim Jeffords, best known in liberal-Democratic circles across the country for screwing the Republican Party hard in 2001, has come out with an endorsement for Republican Governor Jim Douglas. (Here is a Boston Globe story, so you don’t have to take PolVT’s word for it.)
What’s up with that?
This doesn’t look so good for the Democratic candidate, Scudder Parker. I mean, if the champion of lefties everywhere finds Douglas to be a suitable governor of the state, is there a reason to vote him out?

Lefties may hold Jeezum up as a champion, but Jeezum ain’t no champion leftie. He was a Republican for like, a thousand years before Bush hijacked the party with a box-cutter.
I’m not surprised by this at all. I may vote for Douglas, myself. Listen to the way he talks! It’s so sooothing. Aaaah.

Man I hate Jim Douglas… He’s such a smarmy, slimy, polititian… He’s really the worst kind of human being in the world… He’s currently my least favorite republican in the state, hands down… I’d rather have an amalgamation of the worst sides of Rich Tarrant, Martha Rainville, Mark Sheppard, and Greg Parke in the Gov’s office than Jim freaking Douglas…
I just wanted to get that off my chest…
He’s so painfully stupid, selfish, dishonest, and disrespectful that it makes my teeth hurt every time I see him…
I hope he gets hit by a truck…
