Lately, I have been reading the blog Five Before Chaos so often that I am going to have to move it up two steps from “Other Blogs that Link Here” to “My Daily Reads” in my blogroll, despite the fact that it is so anti-Christian that it contains a category named “Christofascist.”
I have been wanting to do a post about the whole religion/atheism thing, perhaps addressing some of the things I have been reading on blogs like FBC and others, but I just don’t know where to start. At times, I can’t get two minutes of peace and quiet around here and at others I can’t seem to get focused.
So, that’s what I am working on. In the meantime, check out this great discussion in the comments thread over at this post on Candleblog.
And if anyone wants to buy/lend me the book “The God Delusion,” I’ll read it. The library does not have it.
And if anyone wants to start a discussion in the comments, I’m all for it.

Uh-oh… I’ve been warned. But seriously, Charity, there must be something else that brings you back if I’ve been upgraded to ‘daily read’, unless you’re a glutton for punishment. Is it ‘cuz I’m a nice guy? I doubt it’s the Italian Westerns.
If it’s any consolation, you’re a daily read too, and I always find it very hard not to post a comment here. It’s just when I do, I end up coming back here 5 times a day because of our debates. The blogger meetup this summer in Burlington should be fun, eh?
P.S. I hope you know that ‘Christofascist’, while not grammaticaly correct (similar to Islamofascist) only refers to a particular kind of Christian. Although I pretty much view religion as a rather nasty mind virus, I’m definitely not lumping every Xtian in that category. Unlike Bush’s world view, it’s not all black and white/moral absolutism for me. I look forward to the debate, and I’ll be nice, I swear.

One more thing… When you get your post together, I’d be more than happy to post it on FBC if you’d like.
Happy New Year!

I don’t know why I keep going back. I like to keep informed of what people with different views are saying, but there are a lot of them that I cannot stomach, so, yeah, I guess it is because you are a nice guy.
I am looking forward to the blogger meet up, too. As much as I love blogging, face-to-face is much more conducive to discussion. Though, I am not sure it is more conducive to civility. Having to type things out gives me a chance to decide if I really want to say something.
