After spending the weekend in Massachusetts, it was great to come home to find out that the Vermont GOP elected Rob Roper as the new state party chair.

The left is already trying to portray him as an out-of-the-mainstream bigot, but this Vermonter welcomes someone who champions lower taxes and less government – not to mention, a coalition-builder – taking a position of party leadership in this state.

  1. Huh. I thought the Pizzagali guy would win. Is Roper even from Vermont?

Off topic, but Knodell has a challenger in W2- David Rogers.

  2. Congrats to Rob! I too was a little surprised he won, but think that he will be a great asset to the party.

  3. WEll, as far as him being bigoted and such, I’ll reserve judgment until I’ve actually heard something from him, but being a regular on the knuckle-dragging waste of oxygen known as True North radio, it’s tempting to judge a person by the company he keeps.

Am I right in assuming that since he wants less government, he’s going to control the wingers in his party that are still obsessed with gay sex?

  4. I’ve never heard Rob say anything bigoted before.

I have heard of these accusations and would like to see proof.

  5. Rob is a very decent person and the VT GOP is lucky to have someone with such talent and level headedness. Not all in the GOP go by reason…but Rob does.
