Some in the right-wing blogosphere are trying to raise some money for Fred Thompson with a Fred Thompson Blogburst.  You can find out more at Right Wing News, which I have never actually read before despite the relevant name.

Anyway, they made a rather humorous video that sums up my opinion of the GOP candidates in only 2 minutes.

Take a look and save me from posting on each one, though I am going to work on that over the weekend anyway.

You’ll have to wait to read my thoughts on the primary, but I will give you a little – ok, big – spoiler.  I don’t like Huckabee.

Alright, you already knew that.  Okay, how about this, I am torn between Ron Paul and Fred Thompson.  I know, weird combination.

  1. Oh, boy, can’t wait to hear this one….I’ll withhold comment until then. Thank The Flying Spaghetti Monster none of ‘em have the remotest chance in hell of winning.

  2. Last time I checked, I think Thompson had a chance at winning in the Georgia primary (for some unknown reason). He doesn’t look like he has his heart in it at all though. I’d be interested to see what Ron Paul is going to do with all that money that he’s raised so far too.

IMO, the Republican primary has been more interesting to watch so far…it doesn’t seem like they’ll be a clear winner there for quite a while. The Democrats look to me like they might shake things out sooner.

  3. I’ll bet Ron “evolution is just a theory” Paul will end up running as the libertarian candidate, after he barely cracks the single digits. Grandpa Fred Thompson will nod off about halfway through the primary season, wake up when it’s over, and continue to campaign as if nothing’s happened. When he finally figures it out, he’ll go back to his half-assed acting job.

  4. Did they ever pull his episodes of “Law and Order” off the air? I thought they were going to after he “annouced” that he was running, but I’m pretty sure that I’ve seen some since then. They need to bring back the Fairness Doctrine in all media.

I never much liked his “tough-love conservative” character on that show…his character was always mean to that blonde Serena character too… :)

    Happy New Year…

  5. I take back what I said about Fred and his chances in the Georgia primary. It’s back to being too close to call in my book. Maybe he can bust out at the WY GOP county conventions this weekend. :)
