Ha!  It figures that when I finally wrote a retort to anti-homeschoolers, I used “do” instead of “due” in the title.

What can I say?  I am extremely sleep deprived and it was getting late.  We’re all human.

Still, I feel a little stupid.

  1. Tired? Now your’e ripping off Hillary’s excuse for her Bosnia “misspeak”. Tsk tsk.

  2. I hadn’t heard that. I am not following that kind of garbage. I do not have the time.

  3. Now THAT is funny- equating a misspelling with someone who lies about being shot at. What a hoot. Folks make typos all the time because they are tired and distracted- exactly how tired must one be to imagine that one is arriving at an airport under heavy sniper fire? Or that she was named after someone who was unknown when she was born? Or that she brought peace to Ireland? Oh, and she completely forgot that she supported NAFTA. Right now she is probably still looking for those darned 2006 tax records. Uh-huh. She isn’t tired- she’s comatose.

Charity- I seldom engage these folks either, because you can write a 5000 word post, and they will pick the two or three words out of context that they believe prove their point. They have no desire for intelligent discourse or the exchange of ideas. Save your keyboard for folks who are willing to consider using facts, evidence, and logic in their debate efforts. But your post was great- I understand the desire to vent after hearing the same inane blather for 13 years.

You know, I’d like to see some of these ‘intellectual giants’ bake bread that is edible. Without a bread machine. But culinary skills aren’t lofty enough- that is until they plop down $8 at Panera for a sandwich that cost .50 to make. Oy vey.

  4. This is the down side of the post that names itself …. it preserves that initial error that will happen now and then. It happens to all of us at some time or another.

(I had noticed it and refrained from mentioning it because if I had, the Homeschooling Minions would have been all over my blog looking for examples!!!! … and they would have found, ah, a few…..)

Please get over yourself. This has to be one of the most ridiculous arguments I’ve ever heard. I was educated in schools, college Science degree, IT manager and a fantastic chef thank you very much. Happened to be the sous chef in a 4 star restaurant at a posh ski resort for 8 years.

    Who’s using sterotypes now?

  6. Yes I make typos too. Goes along with the post I guess.

  7. Rev.BigDumbChimp- that wasn’t an argument- it was a comment on a comment from a previous post where domestic skills were diminished along with other things as being ‘anti-intellectual’.

I don’t poo-poo any skill or task, regardless of how unimportant or humble it may seem. Except maybe sword-swallowing.

  8. Ha! I’ve done that more than once. I think I make more errors in titles than anywhere else. And then they are stuck there in the feeds. Oh bother.
