Doing My Part to Stimulate the Economy
There have been quite a few stories lately about how people will be spending their economic stimulus money. Most people, it seems, will pay down debt. That is a great idea.
But what if you have been living like paupers for the last couple of years, so you could finally be debt free? What if you have gone without things you wanted, postponed buying a house, forewent the second car, worn old clothes, clipped coupons, shopped sales and stuck to a budget, so you could say that you paid your last car payment and credit card bill and even started building up your savings?
Well then, you might want to go out and buy yourself a brand new laptop. Like I did. Just this morning.
The newspaper tried to make me feel guilty with their Buy Vermont campaign, but then I realized that the state just made 50 bucks off the sales tax, so I am doing my part for the state.
Besides, I have been coveting admiring this beauty for so long.
There is a moral to this story; it’s not just an opportunity for me to brag.
If you are trying to get your finances in order, just remember, there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
And when you finally get there, it is the sweetest thing.

How exciting! I’m so happy for you!
