In honor of Mother’s Day, The Boston Globe’s Ellen Goodman had a post about Barack Obama’s mother.

It seems she was a pretty remarkable woman.

Ms. Goodman believes that Sen. Obama’s mother is representative of the typical woman that is supporting Hillary Clinton - women whose votes Obama will need in November - and that he can demonstrate to these women that he “gets” them by talking more about his deceased mother.

Goodman concludes her essay by stating that she is “not suggesting Obama drag out his mama as a prop.” Isn’t she, though?

Now, I frequently disagree with Ms. Goodman, what with her being an extreme feminist and all, but this column upped the nausea factor ten fold.

I can only hope that Sen. Obama has more taste than that.
