The other day, a homeschooling blog I read linked to a post all about how Barack Obama is calling for a stop to the foolish diversions and for focus to return to the serious issues facing out country.
Sen. Obama says America’s had “enough” of these “phony and foolish diversions.”
“This happens every election cycle. Every four years. This is what we do. We’ve got an energy crisis. We have an education system that is not working for too many of our children and making us less competitive. We have an economy that is creating hardship for families all across America. We’ve got two wars going on — veterans coming home not being cared for — and this is what they want to talk about. This is what they want to spend two of the last 55 days talking about.”
I anxiously awaited how Sen. Obama was going to back up his words with real, hard-hitting, issue-oriented campaign ads.
An ad criticizing Sen. McCain for being so old and out-of-touch that he doesn’t even use a computer.
Wow! That is a serious issue.
The only person this is going to be a serious issue for is the Obama campaign, which apparently forgot how to Google. Luckily, Jonah Goldberg did not.
From a 2000 Boston Globe article,
McCain gets emotional at the mention of military families needing food stamps or veterans lacking health care. The outrage comes from inside: McCain’s severe war injuries prevent him from combing his hair, typing on a keyboard, or tying his shoes.
I think the Obama campaign theme song should become “Oops, I did it again.” Now that’s change I can believe in.

Oh, and stop by and read Cassy Fiano’s take on this situation. She has a Men In Black 2 clip that this situation reminded her of. Very funny.
