The internet tells me that today is Delurking Day.

Lurking is when you read a blog, but never comment.  Like you, here.  Delurking Day is when you delurk and leave a comment for a change.

Come on.  I know you are here.  I have a statistics tracker.  There are scores of you that come back every day, yet only about three of you leave comments.  This day is all about you.  Think of it as your time to shine.

If I get at least 10 commentors today, I will post every day for the rest of this month.  That is what you call win-win.  Or something like that.

  1. Charity, you did a nice job covering the Republican Party for Channel 17. There’s my comment, back to lurk mode…

  2. Here’s your second comment.

  3. I thank you for the link to Big Bag of Wind. I’ve gotten some referred visitors from this site. I too have a lack of comments. And I’m trying to give away free stuff! It’s tough out there, Charity! BTW, have you participated in our 2012 presidential preference poll? It’s never to early to start thinking about the next election, you know.

  4. Great post, I confess to being a part-time lurker

  5. Hey, I’ll get you past your usual 3. I’m a first-timer here, though — found you when I did a search for Delurking Day 2009. Love your blog title, look forward to reading more! A few hours left to get the other 6…

  6. Happy belated “Delurking Day” Charity. I had tried to leave a comment on your “Candy Cane” blog post before Xmas (and my subsequent, nasty cold), but my browser labelled you as a potential “phishing site”, which is pretty ridiculous & weird IMO.

  7. Sorry I wuz late …

but what happens when the blogger is merely lurking?

Anyway … turn off Gush Dumbaugh and keep doing useful things.

  8. Here’s that bail-out pome (from September) the PC Lefties don’t like cause I use the A-word. I guess the woman here would be considered a yahoo redneck:

    Dark Winter
    Dead Winter

    how much to bury
    my country?
    to bury my child
    unborn aborted
    by Wall Street doctors
    without licences
    without rules
    except to kill everything
    that makes a life
    makes a country?

    how much
    how much more?

    the candidates say
    they know
    it’s all gone sour
    the newspapers say
    vultures circle
    above fall colors
    waiting for winter kills

    how much more?

    the electricity
    turned off today
    tomorrow the phone
    my dead child
    in the trash heap
    feeding the homeless

    I believed things
    couldn’t get worse
    I believed in a God
    who gave me his word
    and I believed people
    had goodness enough
to stop at the edge of horror

    now we have all taken
    the leap
how much to bury us all?

    I saved my child
    from paying the bill
    for death
    the heat just went off
    I saved myself
    some final words
    though we’ve gone
    beyond words

    help us we say
    why won’t you help us?
    why won’t you stop
    and turn back on
    some light
    some goodness?

    my child
    my country

    you bastards
    how much more?
