Crafting is my bliss. Besides politics, it is my favorite thing in life. But it’s better than politics because it’s useful and doesn’t make you want to slap people and call them bad names.
When the political blogosphere starts to drive me mad, I escape to the “crafting” folder in my feed reader for solace.
But these days, I have to put up with crap like this:

Crochet Obama
and this:

Obama Quilt
And there is more. Much much more, ranging from the amazingly talented to the freakishly odd. Obama cupcakes, Obama embroidery, Obama jewelry, Obama knitting. There is even a portrait of Obama made out of – wait for it – change! (Actually, that one is pretty cool, so I’m going to link to it.)
It’s like the whole nation is under some kind of bizarre spell. It’s weird. I don’t get it.
I don’t begrudge people the right to worship Obama, and I certainly respect that people can do what they want with their own blogs, but it is such a bummer that now I have nowhere to go when I want to get away from politics.
I certainly hope that changes soon.

The real questions are: Is Obama bigger than Elvis yet? If so, is he bigger than Jesus? If so, is he bigger than John Lennon? Should he host Saturday Night Live? Can he play the banjo? What’s his favorite table book? And, while we’re feeling so feelgood, is all this stuff part of his economic plan? Obamaconomy? America goes back to work making Obama products? Or is this crap outsourced to India and China?
America loves products. Has the Corporate Reich finally come up with the ultimate product? Where is Orson Welles when you need him? Rosebud………….

“is all this stuff part of his economic plan? Obamaconomy? America goes back to work making Obama products?”
I literally laughed out loud when I read that.

Well, what’s NOT funny is, he drone-bombed Pakistan this weekend killing 14? including some children. Guess he ain’t bigger than Jesus yet. You’ll note, Charity, that the story’s been, what’s that word? oh yeah–suppressed.

“You’ll note, Charity, that the story’s been, what’s that word? oh yeah–suppressed.”
Are you kidding me?? Charity already *blogged* about that story right here on this very website! “Surpressed”…please…go write a poem…

You’ll note, Mr. Guy, I got that information from a foreign news website.

Hey, Mr. Guy, you sound like what Michael Colby would call a Liberal-F___! The truth is, it was a story that got ’scant’ MSM coverage here. If we have come to the point where the USA bombing other countries and other peoples can be found only on the blogs or some search mode in google, I’d call that ’suppressing’ the news.
And here’s the poem:
Obomber (thank you, JD Ryan…and Rudyard Kipling)
bloody hell he’s got to bomb ‘em all
cause he’s closing Gitmo afterall
he’s our new Commander-In-Chief
he’s gonna give those terrorists some grief
so they’ll know and tell their kids
about Obomber
they thought we were gonna change
those fuzzy-wuzzies think very strange
so he has to show them we’re not wimps
nor are we ladies, kimps, or simps
they’ll have to hide in caves
from our Obomber
and when they’re counting up the dead
they’ll get the message through their heads
those bloody filthy beggars in their rags
will know we’re raising all our flags
he’s a better man than they are
our Obomber
Oh what a fun site, Charity. All we need now is Michael.

“You’ll note, Mr. Guy, I got that information from a foreign news website.”
Gee, these sites don’t look “foreign” to me:
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/200.....s_pakistan
http://www.bostonherald.com/ne....._Pakistan/
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/28811723/wid/18298287/
http://www.azcentral.com/news/.....23-ON.html
And that’s just a few highlights off a simple news search…once again, so much for “a story that got ’scant’ MSM coverage”…
