I just finished filing our income tax return and for the first time, I had to file a Schedule C for income earned on She’s Right and another blog of mine, All Things Hold Together. I listed my business as “internet publishing.”
Even after deducting my laptop, hosting fees, and domain registrations as expenses, I still finished in the black.
I guess that makes me a professional blogger. Part time, but still. It’s pretty cool.

Can you share where your are making money from your blog?
That would be interesting.

I made some money on my other blog using an affiliate program for the website that I use to buy my homeschool books. I would post reviews of materials I use, then insert links containing my affiliate ID. If people click over and buy, I get a small percentage of the sale.
I also use a company called LinkWorth (linkworth.com). They place links in my side bar and I get a monthly payment. In the months leading up to the election, I had tons of links, but it trailed off after the election. Now I only have 4.
Before I started using LinkWorth, I had a couple of private deals. I was contacted by those individuals and we set up the terms.
My online friend Kate used to run a site about making money blogging. She has a page with the companies she recommended. That’s how I found out about LinkWorth.

Congratulations.
I’d be interested to see your stats. I can’t seem to find a link to them anywhere. Mine are public.

I don’t have a link to my stats. That’s classified information. You can request that it be declassified, but I have to warn you, it’s a 6-8 month process.

Charity, I wanna go back to NYC and be a ‘Professional Leftie’–thought you’d get a kick out of this. Maybe I’ll put it on Daily Kos for their ‘oh so clever’ and ‘outraged’ comments. Also, check out Broadsides. We’re having fun with Michael’s bgh Victory.–Petey
Political Noir
stuff shirted leftie lock steps
self-righteously away
from any blame
for the homeless dead
on a cold Manhattan
party night,
he’s got a meeting,
where they’ll fix that blame,
call for actions,
and smoke and snort
more than enough
to keep alive
those wretched ones
for quite some time,
the clubs then beckon,
where music is politics
to their ears, where
waitresses provocate,
where a tip is worth a feel,
where the wallet is the heart
and heat of all issues,
oh yes, please save us all now
with long winded words
about justice and peace,
we would believe anything
that lets us look elsewhere,
some place where dictators
mediate at workshops
to learn the moves,
talk the talk
and give us something
to hate beyond our reach,
something we can do nothing about
but get some deep doped sleep
where the blessed dead
jump over fences
to bring us their love

I’ll have to add Broadsides to my VT blogroll. I need to add a few other blogs, too. Maybe this weekend.
I hate to admit this because I am usually very careful about reading labels and about what my family eats, but I had no idea that Cabot used rBGH. I just assumed that they didn’t. But you know what they say when you assume…
